Tax Manager (Renewable Energy)

About the role

The client, a multinational leader in renewable energy, is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee Canadian tax compliance, incentives, and reporting. The role combines technical tax work with collaboration across development and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare schedules, working papers, and Canadian tax returns, including utility taxes and estimated payments.
• Maintain and update the thin‑capitalisation model.
• Analyze and apply Canada Green Tax Incentives for wind and solar projects.
• Gather and analyse financial data, generate SAP accounting reports for tax expense, VAT, excise taxes, and ensure policy compliance.
• Respond to notices from tax authorities, manage audits across Canadian jurisdictions, and liaise with government agencies.
• Conduct research on tax topics and lead special tax projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Fluency in French for a French‑speaking work environment.
• Five or more years of progressive Canadian corporate tax experience.
• CPA designation (Canadian or international) is an asset.
• Experience in the renewable‑energy sector, especially wind or solar, is preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP FI is a plus.
