Tax Manager

About the role

The Tax Manager will join White Owl Family Office Group’s Markham office to lead tax compliance and reporting for the family office and its related entities. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with accounting, legal and investment teams to ensure accurate tax provisioning and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file corporate (T2), partnership (T3) and partnership information (T5013) returns, as well as individual tax returns and related elections.
• Maintain tax reporting schedules, track attributes, and manage filing deadlines across Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions.
• Respond to tax authority inquiries and support audits.
• Collaborate with accounting, legal and investment professionals to document tax positions and ensure proper internal controls.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on tax implications of transactions and investment strategies.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of tax law and concepts applicable to individuals, corporations and investment entities.
• Professional designation such as CPA or completion of an in‑depth tax course.
• Progressive tax experience in public accounting, family office or investment management environments.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate complex tax issues clearly.

Required skills

• Multi‑jurisdiction tax knowledge (Canada and United States).
• CPA designation or equivalent tax certification.
