Tax Advisor & Preparer

About the role

FBC is seeking a Tax Advisor & Preparer to work directly with members across Ontario. The role combines tax preparation, strategic planning, and client relationship building while travelling to client locations and supporting the Smiths Falls office as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file T1 and T2 tax returns for members.
• Provide accurate tax and accounting advice aligned with CRA regulations.
• Identify member needs and refer them to other FBC specialists (bookkeeping, payroll, legal, estate planning).
• Maintain detailed records of all member interactions and services delivered.
• Participate in community events to increase brand visibility and strengthen relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a tax preparation or accounting firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Valid driver’s licence, vehicle registration, and reliable vehicle for daily travel.
• Client‑focused mindset with strong relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Taxprep software.
• Experience using Xero accounting platform.
• Knowledge of iFirm (asset).
