Tax Advisor & Preparer

About the role

FBC is seeking a Tax Advisor & Preparer to join its Winnipeg team. This hybrid position combines office work with extensive travel to meet members at their businesses, including remote locations, to deliver personalized tax solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate tax and accounting advice to FBC members.
• Gather member information and prepare T1 and T2 tax returns.
• Build and maintain strong relationships, encouraging referrals and long‑term engagement.
• Identify member needs and connect them with other specialists within the firm.
• Maintain precise records of all member interactions and services provided.
• Support additional services such as bookkeeping, payroll, legal assistance, estate and retirement planning as required.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a tax preparation or accounting firm.
• Valid driver’s licence, vehicle registration and a reliable vehicle for daily travel.
• Willingness to travel up to two weeks per month to rural and remote locations.
• Client‑focused mindset with strong relationship‑building abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software; Taxprep and Xero preferred (iFirm knowledge an advantage).
