About the role
Kimono Sushi Bar is seeking an experienced Sushi Chef to lead our kitchen operations in Québec. You will be responsible for preparing high‑quality sushi dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining strict health and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
- Prepare and cook sushi and other specialty foods.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
- Manage overall kitchen operations.
- Ensure compliance with local health and sanitation regulations.
Required profile
- No formal degree required; Food Safety Certificate is mandatory.
- 2 to less than 3 years of experience as a sushi chef.
- Availability to work evenings, days and weekends.
- Ability to mentor newcomers, refugees, youth, veterans, Indigenous workers and visible minorities.
