About the role
The First Cook will join Mount Everest Kitchen & Grill in Vancouver, preparing and cooking a variety of meals in a busy restaurant setting. This role involves delivering high‑quality dishes while maintaining safety and hygiene standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes according to recipes.
- Prepare special meals for patients as directed by a dietitian or chef.
- Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking techniques and safe handling.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, delegating tasks as needed.
- Maintain inventory records for food, supplies and equipment.
- Clean kitchen work areas and equipment regularly.
- Manage overall kitchen operations to meet service demands.
Required profile
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.
- Comfort with repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility, initiative and strong organizational skills.
- Reliability and a collaborative team‑player attitude.
