About the role
We are seeking a reliable kitchen helper to join our team at Sushi California in Vancouver. The role involves supporting daily kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, and assisting with food preparation.
Key responsibilities
- Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware.
- Place cleaned dishes in the designated storage area.
- Sanitize and hand‑wash dishes and other items as needed.
- Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment.
- Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage locations.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and tools throughout the shift.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and slicing under supervision.
- Support the team by restocking supplies and ensuring proper inventory rotation.
Required profile
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
