Surveyor – Land Surveying & Mapping Specialist

About the role

Wood Rodgers is seeking a Surveyor to join its Survey Department in Pleasanton. The role combines traditional surveying techniques with modern tools to produce high‑quality maps and legal documents for public and private projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings from sketches, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Interpret field notes, perform closure, precision calculations, and other survey computations.
• Produce topographic surveys using conventional, GPS, terrestrial and aerial LiDAR data.
• Generate ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Records of Survey, Parcel Maps, Final Maps, and related legal documents.
• Develop legal descriptions, easement exhibits, and compile land‑title information from title reports.
• Support construction staking and pre‑calculate survey data for construction surveys.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Active California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong knowledge of boundary and legal principles.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Experience with ESRI GIS is a plus.
• Prior land‑development project experience preferred.
