Support Services Attendant – Temporary Part‑Time

About the role

The Support Services Attendant provides a clean, safe environment and assists with patient transfers, food service, and supply flow within Groves Memorial Community Hospital. This temporary part‑time position works on a rotating schedule, including weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties: cleaning, disinfection, waste collection, linen handling, and food preparation, assembly, delivery, and storage.
• Transfer patients safely using hospital equipment and manage the supply of transfer devices.
• Receive, validate, and distribute hospital deliveries; enter items into the electronic supply‑chain database.
• Arrange internal shipments, maintain supply levels, rotate stock, and address shortages.
• Follow BPS supply‑chain regulations, segregation of duties, and relevant health‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Secondary School Diploma.
• Experience in healthcare environmental cleaning or food services.
• Certificates preferred: Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment, Safe Food Handling, Food Service Worker, CPR, WHMIS.
• Annual MSD prevention and Safe Client & Materials Handling training.
• Dependable attendance record and satisfactory reference checks.
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check and pre‑employment health assessment.

Required skills

• WHMIS training.
• Operation of hydraulic lift/scissor dock and related equipment.
• Strong computer proficiency for data entry into supply‑chain systems.
