Casual Pharmacy Technician – Hospital Pharmacy

About the role

The Groves Memorial Community Hospital is seeking a Casual Pharmacy Technician to join its Pharmacy Department. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, you will provide technical and clinical support in a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medications, including sterile admixtures such as chemotherapy, TPN, and patient‑controlled analgesia.
• Utilise computer systems for order entry, medication reconciliation, document generation and inventory control.
• Deliver medications to clinical areas and maintain their integrity.
• Participate in audits, medication‑safety initiatives and departmental projects.

Required profile

• Graduate of a CCAPP‑accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
• Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
• Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing and sterile product preparation.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Dependable attendance record and commitment to lifelong learning.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using Meditech pharmacy software.
