Support Services Attendant – Part‑Time (Hospital)

About the role

The Support Services Attendant provides a clean, safe, and efficient environment within Groves Memorial Community Hospital. Working part‑time, you will handle housekeeping, food service, patient transfers, and supply chain tasks while adhering to provincial and federal health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, disinfection, waste collection, and linen handling across patient care areas.
• Prepare, assemble, deliver, serve, and store food in patient care and cafeteria settings.
• Assist with patient transfers and operate hydraulic lifts or scissor docks.
• Receive, validate, and distribute hospital deliveries; enter items into the electronic supply‑chain database.
• Maintain inventory levels, rotate stock, and ensure compliance with BPS supply‑chain regulations.
• Support additional duties as assigned by the Support Services Department.

Required profile

• Secondary School Diploma.
• Experience in healthcare environmental cleaning or food services.
• Certificates preferred: Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment, Safe Food Handling, Food Service Worker, CPR.
• Current WHMIS training and annual MSD prevention training.
• Dependable attendance record and ability to pass reference and vulnerable sector checks.

Required skills

• WHMIS certification.
• Safe Food Handling knowledge.
• CPR certification (preferred).
• Operation of hydraulic lifts/scissor docks.
• Basic computer proficiency for inventory and supply‑chain systems.
