Supply Chain Professional – 24-Month Contract (Hybrid)

About the role

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Professional to support one of British Columbia’s largest utility providers on a 24‑month contract. The role is hybrid, based in Surrey, BC, and focuses on end‑to‑end public procurement initiatives that underpin critical infrastructure and materials management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and category‑management strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead competitive procurement processes from planning through to contract award, including preparation of RFPs, RFQs, RFTs, RFIs and related documents.
• Conduct supplier and market research to identify opportunities, risks and best‑value solutions.
• Evaluate proposals, negotiate terms, support contract awards and manage supplier relationships.
• Identify sourcing risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Provide regular reporting on procurement initiatives and escalate issues as needed.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement projects that enhance procurement efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of procurement, sourcing or category‑management experience, preferably in the public sector.
• Demonstrated experience managing public‑sector competitive sourcing processes and preparing RFx documentation.
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, contract law and competitive bidding practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience using SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
