Subcontracts Lead – Rail Transit Projects

About the role

The Subcontracts Lead will oversee subcontract administration for a large‑scale rail transit construction project in Ontario. Reporting to the Subcontracts Manager, this role ensures that all subcontract packages are executed, tracked, and closed in line with contract requirements, project schedules, safety standards, and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead administration of multiple subcontract packages covering civil works, track, systems, utilities, stations, and specialty trades.
• Coordinate issuance of subcontracts, notices to proceed, amendments, and change orders.
• Track subcontract values, insurance, bonds, and compliance documents accurately.
• Support subcontract closeout activities, including final releases and documentation.
• Provide day‑to‑day guidance to subcontract coordinators and administrators, assign workloads and monitor progress.
• Review subcontract documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Assist in monitoring subcontractor performance on scope, schedule, and cost.
• Collaborate with cost/project controls on budgets, forecasts, and change management.
• Identify and resolve subcontract issues and risks, preparing reports for project leadership.

Required profile

• Experience overseeing subcontract administration on large infrastructure projects.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple internal teams such as project controls, construction, and engineering.
• Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and deadlines.
