Staff Android Software Engineer - Infotainment App

About the role

Join Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies to design and build cutting‑edge infotainment applications for next‑generation electric vehicles. You will work on an Android‑based operating system, creating modular, high‑performance software that powers the digital experience inside the car.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop infotainment applications on Rivian and Volkswagen Group Android‑based OS.
• Create modular and scalable software components that can be reused across multiple products.
• Establish design patterns and libraries to accelerate future development.
• Lead software design discussions and collaborate with developers on technical decisions.
• Work with product, UI/UX, and cross‑functional teams to define feature requirements.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimisations.
• Conduct code reviews and apply continuous integration and delivery practices.
• Write automated test code to ensure quality and functional correctness.
• Maintain and release application updates, and investigate the AOSP codebase for improvements.
• Develop sample and demo applications that showcase the technology.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge through workshops and talks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience designing and delivering Android applications at scale.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.
