Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. You will receive on‑the‑job training on a range of specialized solids control equipment and work 12‑hour shifts on a 14‑days‑on/7‑days‑off rotational schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Rig up and rig down solids control equipment such as shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying units and pumps.
• Operate and maintain heavy machinery and pressure‑washing equipment on remote job sites.
• Perform fluid analysis (weight, funnel viscosity, retort analysis) and monitor drilling fluid properties.
• Execute solids control services including air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering, floc water handling, fluid transfers, low‑gravity solids targeting, and cuttings drying.
• Carry out routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and participate in daily safety meetings.
• Complete daily PJRA/JSA, inspection reports, observation reports and checklists while wearing required PPE.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour swing rotations (12 PM‑12 AM or 12 AM‑12 PM) and a 14‑on/7‑off schedule.
• Ability to travel domestically to remote locations throughout Canada.
• Safety‑sensitive mindset with a commitment to follow all safety protocols.
• Basic knowledge of environmental services, electrical principles and drilling fluid characteristics.
