Social Media Manager

About the role

Second Harvest is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead its digital presence across Canada. In this hybrid role you will shape strategy, create compelling content and engage both business and consumer audiences to advance the organization’s mission of eliminating food waste and hunger.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual social‑media content strategy aligned with fundraising and marketing goals.
• Manage day‑to‑day activities on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and YouTube, including scheduling, publishing, optimization and community interaction.
• Create platform‑specific copy, photography, graphics and short‑form video that showcases the brand.
• Plan, launch and monitor paid social campaigns, analysing performance metrics to inform future tactics.
• Represent Second Harvest on‑camera as a trusted voice and collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team on cross‑channel initiatives.

Required profile

• Strategic, creative and data‑driven marketer with a passion for storytelling.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven nonprofit environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and YouTube.
• Proficiency in creating copy, photography, graphics and short‑form video content.
• Ability to manage organic and paid social campaigns and interpret analytics.
