SOC Analyst (Level 1) – Toronto

About the role

BrightIT is seeking a Level 1 Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join its Toronto office. You will work on a rotating shift schedule, monitoring security alerts and responding to incidents for a fast‑growing iGaming technology provider.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls and other security tools.
• Perform initial triage and analysis of events to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze network traffic, system logs and telemetry to detect malicious activity.
• Respond to security incidents, coordinate with SOC L2 and document actions taken.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare incident reports and contribute to SOC process improvements.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in security operations or IT security.
• Strong understanding of information‑security principles and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and problem‑solving mindset.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM tools and security monitoring (XDR).
• Knowledge of IDS/IPS and firewall technologies.
• Ability to analyse network traffic and system logs.
