Skyscraper Operator

About the role

Berger is seeking a full‑time Skyscraper Operator for its Baie‑Sainte‑Anne site. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the skyscraper machine, a critical piece of equipment used in the production of growing media for horticultural applications.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the skyscraper machine safely and efficiently during production shifts.
• Perform daily inspections and basic preventive maintenance on the equipment.
• Maintain consistent productivity while meeting established quality standards.
• Monitor machine performance, make adjustments, and record production data.
• Report any mechanical issues or downtime to supervisors and maintenance teams.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance personnel to ensure continuous workflow.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols.
• Assist with related tasks to support overall production operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating production machinery or heavy equipment (preferred).
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
• Ability to communicate in English; French is an asset.
• Physical ability to operate machinery for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb.
• Positive attitude, teamwork spirit, and strong commitment to safety.

• Forklift operation (certification or willingness to obtain).
