Sessional Lecturer – Applied Conservation Biology (EES3000H)

About the role

The University of Toronto Scarborough seeks a qualified sessional lecturer to teach EES3000 – Applied Conservation Biology during the Fall 2026 term. This part‑time role involves delivering lectures and facilitating interactive discussions with leading Canadian conservation practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures and laboratory sessions on conservation theory and policy.
• Create exams, term tests, and assignments, and manage grading.
• Supervise teaching assistants and coordinate course logistics.
• Participate in student evaluations of the instructor and course.
• Maintain the scheduled class time: Tuesdays 1 PM – 4 PM.

Required profile

• PhD in Conservation Biology, Ecology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching at the university level.
• Availability for the fixed schedule throughout the term (September 1 – December 31, 2026).

Required skills

• Ability to develop lecture materials, exams and assignments.
• Proficiency in managing student assessments and grades.
• Experience supervising teaching assistants.
