Sessional Lecturer – Advanced Topics in Assurance (Fall 2026)

About the role

The School of Graduate Studies at the University of Toronto Scarborough seeks a Sessional Lecturer to teach MAF1003H3F – Advanced Topics in Assurance during the Fall 2026 term. This half‑course (0.50 FCE) is delivered in‑class and targets graduate‑level students, focusing on assurance theory, ethics, governance, and complex case‑based applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver weekly in‑class sessions covering advanced assurance concepts and current research.
• Develop and grade assignments, case studies, and examinations that assess professional judgement and skepticism.
• Facilitate classroom discussions that integrate assurance with broader business contexts.
• Provide timely feedback and support to students, fostering ethical decision‑making and communication skills.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree and active membership as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
• Demonstrated experience teaching audit or assurance at the undergraduate or graduate level with strong evaluation records.
• Senior‑level experience leading audit and assurance engagements in a professional accounting practice.
