Senior Tax Analyst – Contract (Hybrid)

About the role

Our client, a large Canadian corporation, is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to support its Canadian Tax Team on a fixed‑term basis. The role will start with onsite training in Grimsby, Ontario and transition to a hybrid schedule, allowing one day per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the transfer pricing reporting process, reviewing submissions for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare Canadian tax schedules, transfer pricing reports and support intercompany agreements.
• Draft corporate income tax returns and ensure documentation is audit‑ready.
• Review and prepare tax provision entries and forecasts for current and deferred taxes.
• Support indirect and commodity tax reporting and remittances.
• Assist with tax audits by gathering information and responding to tax authorities.
• Conduct tax research and document technical tax positions.
• Participate in business and system improvement initiatives, including automation and process enhancements.
• Provide tax guidance on business decisions and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
• Minimum 1 year of dedicated Canadian corporate tax and/or commodity tax experience.
• 8+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a large corporate environment.
• Strong financial analysis, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with SAP.
