Senior Systems & Infrastructure Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Systems & Infrastructure Administrator to join a well‑established organization on a three‑month contract with strong potential to become permanent. The role is hands‑on, covering servers, virtualization, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services and end‑user support, primarily in a hybrid work setting.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and optimise enterprise infrastructure including servers, operating systems, storage and virtualization platforms.
• Manage VMware vSphere environments – performance tuning, troubleshooting and capacity planning.
• Perform system backups, disaster‑recovery testing and recovery planning.
• Deploy hardware, software, firmware and security updates to ensure a stable, secure environment.
• Support application teams throughout project lifecycles with infrastructure expertise.
• Monitor and administer network, communication and security technologies across LAN, internet, cloud and collaboration platforms.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls in line with compliance requirements.
• Conduct network and security audits, monitor alerts and assist with incident response.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for complex hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Create technical documentation, reports and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Several years of experience administering enterprise‑level infrastructure, networks and security environments.
• Hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Windows Server and related technologies.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with IT leadership, vendors and business stakeholders.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to infrastructure modernisation.
