Senior Program Assistant – Basic Clinical Year (BCY)

About the role

The Faculty of Medicine at UBC is seeking a Senior Program Assistant to provide complex coordination and support for the Basic Clinical Year Training (BCYT) program delivered at St. Paul’s Hospital and Royal Columbian Hospital. The role ensures smooth delivery of the program for approximately 65 residents across the two sites.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex scheduling for seminars, lectures, and clinical rotations.
• Prepare program documentation and educational materials.
• Correspond with lecturers, preceptors, and other stakeholders.
• Streamline processes and improve program administration.
• Oversee resident training information and education logistics.

Required profile

• Reports to the Basic Clinical Year Manager and works independently with minimal guidance.
• Receives direction from the BCYT Program Directors at both hospitals.
• Demonstrated experience in program coordination within a medical or academic environment.

Required skills

• Complex scheduling and calendar management.
• Document preparation and editing.
• Effective written and verbal communication with academic and clinical staff.
