Wellness Centre Coverage Contractor - Fitness & Wellness Consultant

About the role

TELUS Health's Corporate Wellness team provides fitness and wellness programs that help employees build healthy habits and stay active at work. It is seeking a fitness and wellness professional to cover a corporate wellness centre in downtown Vancouver during team member vacations and other absences. The position is on-site and is filled by an independent contractor (IHP); dates, shift times and hours are confirmed based on centre needs and your availability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide front desk coverage, welcome members and respond to inquiries
• Complete facility walkthroughs, monitor supplies and report facility or equipment concerns
• Support safe centre operations and follow established emergency procedures
• Track attendance, promote programming and support wellness initiatives
• Provide equipment orientations and coordinate scheduled fitness activities
• Lead fitness classes or wellness breaks as needed and within your qualifications

Required profile

• Current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications
• Degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Fitness, Health Promotion, Workplace Wellness or a related field (asset)
• Current group fitness instructor and personal training certifications (asset)
• Experience working in a wellness/fitness centre (asset)
