Senior Procurement Specialist

About the role

FortisBC is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to lead sourcing and supplier management initiatives across its energy portfolio. The role focuses on delivering cost‑effective solutions while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing plans that align with business needs.
• Identify, assess, and select suppliers, conducting thorough supplier evaluations.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and value.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance, compliance, and address issues promptly.
• Draft, review, and administer contracts in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure adherence to industry standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation actions.
• Stay updated on market trends and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.
• Mentor junior team members and support departmental initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of recent procurement experience.
• Professional supply chain designation (e.g., SCMP, CSCL, CSCP, CPSM) is an asset.
