Senior Manager, Tax

About the role

Odyssey Trust Company is seeking a Senior Manager, Tax to lead the tax compliance function for its issuer clients. Based in Calgary with a hybrid work model, the role combines strategic tax planning with hands‑on operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all operational tax duties including withholding, reporting, and form verification for US and Canadian clients.
• Manage and develop members of the Tax team, ensuring high‑quality delivery.
• Create and implement tax plans in partnership with accounting and leadership teams.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and mitigate potential tax risks.
• Maintain compliance with provincial, federal and international tax laws through robust system controls.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update policies, procedures and strategies accordingly.
• Ensure timely tax remittances and accurate reporting.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in US and Canadian tax compliance and accounting.
• Proven leadership ability to manage a tax team.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on risk mitigation.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of US and Canadian tax regulations.
• Familiarity with tax compliance systems and reporting tools.
