About the role
UBC’s Faculty of Applied Science is establishing a Shared Service Centre (SSC) that will centralise finance, human resources, faculty affairs, student services and stores. The Senior Financial Specialist will initially be placed in the Department of Materials Engineering and later transition to the SSC, providing finance support to the department and potentially to additional units.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver finance services for the Department of Materials Engineering within the SSC framework.
- Support the transition to a centralised finance model across the Faculty of Applied Science.
- Ensure compliance with university financial policies and procedures.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in financial administration within a large academic or research environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a centralised service delivery model.
