Senior Financial Analyst

About the role

This senior position reports to the Lead Finance Officer (LFO) and supports the International Card Services (ICS) group in Canada. The Senior Financial Analyst provides data‑driven recommendations to the Country Manager and leadership team while collaborating with finance and business units worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver insights on P&L performance and support business decision‑making.
• Lead annual forecasting, investment optimisation and month‑end close processes.
• Conduct variance analysis and root‑cause reviews across P&L components, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Mine data to support product design, pricing, new deals, partnerships and product launches.
• Act as liaison between finance and business stakeholders, providing regular updates and progress reports.
• Summarise and track initiatives, creating transparent presentations for senior management.
• Identify and implement innovative process efficiencies.

Required profile

• Strong business acumen with the ability to relate industry trends to financial results.
• Proven ability to draw conclusions, predictions and actionable recommendations from data analysis.
• Basic SQL experience for extracting, structuring and analysing large datasets.
• Capability to transform datasets into clear visualisations that articulate business drivers.
• Expert‑level Excel skills, including financial modelling, scenario analysis and data manipulation.
• Strong PowerPoint skills for creating executive‑ready materials.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial analysis, modelling and forecasting.
