Senior Director, Alumni Engagement

About the role

The Senior Director, Alumni Engagement leads UBC’s global alumni strategy, driving initiatives that deepen connections with alumni worldwide and expand philanthropic support. Reporting to the Associate Vice President/Executive Director, this senior leader works within the Alumni Engagement Leadership team to shape and execute a comprehensive engagement plan.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement long‑term university‑wide strategies for local, regional, and global alumni engagement.
• Lead marquee programs, student‑alumni initiatives, young alumni outreach, career programming, and affinity groups.
• Advise senior administration and the President’s office on strategic opportunities and best practices.
• Collaborate with faculty, departmental leaders, the Development and Alumni Engagement portfolio, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
• Monitor performance against key performance indicators and support the Alumni Engagement Campaign.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in alumni relations, development, or higher‑education engagement.
• Proven leadership ability to manage large, cross‑functional teams and complex programs.
• Strong strategic thinking with a track record of achieving engagement and revenue growth targets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
