Senior Database Analyst

About the role

Agropur is hiring a Senior Database and Middleware Analyst in St-Hubert, Quebec, reporting to the IT Operations Manager (Systems). The role covers the provisioning, configuration, operation and maintenance of relational database management systems and related infrastructure, supporting the evolution of the database ecosystem through standards, automation and operational procedures across on-premises, virtual and cloud environments. It also provides technical leadership to small teams, oversees managed service providers and contributes to major infrastructure, ERP and database initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to expert for database services, resolving critical incidents and delivering long-term solutions.
• Manage, optimize and enhance Oracle, SQL Server and Oracle E-Business Suite environments on-premises and in the cloud.
• Ensure database availability, performance, security and reliability, including backup, disaster recovery and high availability.
• Lead database and infrastructure projects from planning to production deployment.
• Mentor team members, collaborate with partners and vendors, and promote best practices.
• Drive automation initiatives and develop technical documentation, standards and procedures.
• Champion change management, continuous improvement and platform modernization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in database administration, IT infrastructure or ERP environments.
• Experience managing mission-critical environments, including backup and recovery, disaster recovery, high availability and performance optimization.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, collaborate with external vendors and share knowledge across teams.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.

Required skills

• Oracle Database, Oracle 12c, Oracle E-Business Suite and Microsoft SQL Server.
• UNIX, Linux and AIX operating systems, plus automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, PL/SQL or T-SQL.
• Enterprise ERP platforms, especially Oracle E-Business Suite and SAP.
• Cloud environments, particularly Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), is an asset.
