Senior Associate, Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance

About the role

PwC's tax line of service advises clients on tax planning, compliance and strategy, helping businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions. As a Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance Senior Associate in the Entrepreneurial & Private Business (EPB) practice, you will join a team of problem solvers working on tax accounting services, assisting businesses in preparing and reviewing tax provisions, tax returns and financial statements while confirming compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. The position follows the departure of a valued team member.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a variety of projects, including compilations, review engagements and tax compliance engagements
• Review your own work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance
• Delegate to others, coaching them to deliver results and giving them stretch opportunities
• Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from industry and sector trends
• Communicate clearly and constructively, building quality relationships with stakeholders
• Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct

Required profile

• 3 years of experience in a mid-size accounting or public accounting firm
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a similar field
• A qualified Canadian CPA or an equivalent reciprocal/recognised designation is considered an asset; PwC will provide support
• Experience in review and compilation engagements
• Excellent client relationship management skills

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with accounting and tax software such as Taxprep or iFirm
• Drafting financial statements including note disclosures
• Understanding of ASPE accounting standards
• Understanding of Canadian tax and ability to prepare tax returns for corporations, trusts and partnerships

The salary range is $53,600 - $89,300, based on skills, experience, qualifications and location. Eligible employees may also take part in variable incentive pay programs.
