Senior Architect – Cities (Ottawa)

About the role

Gensler is seeking a Senior Architect to lead city‑focused projects in Ottawa. You will guide a multidisciplinary team from concept through construction, ensuring innovative design and technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client, team and project coordination, including documentation with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, civil consultants and more.
• Facilitate communication among project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and permitting officials.
• Provide technical guidance and develop innovative solutions to complex design challenges.
• Maintain project manuals, specifications, and conduct site visits.
• Process submittals, substitution requests, and RFIs during construction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 10+ years of experience in a commercial design firm, with core & shell and interior expertise.
• Licensed Architect status.
• Working knowledge of building codes, standards, construction methods and structural systems.
• Preferred accreditation in LEED, WELL, Passive House or related sustainability programs.
