Senior Advisor Taxation

About the role

National Bank is seeking two Senior Advisors in Taxation to join its Investment Fund Administration team in Montreal or Toronto. The role involves analysing tax situations for investment funds, guiding the team, and supporting major initiatives that impact clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse investment fund tax situations and provide recommendations.
• Coach and guide team members while participating in distribution calculations and tax return preparation.
• Manage strategic relationships with internal and external partners to influence decisions and grow activity volume.
• Develop, implement, and evolve controls and tools to ensure high‑quality financial data integrity.
• Monitor industry developments and ensure compliance with tax and securities regulations.
• Participate in and coordinate projects, monitoring progress and outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in taxation (completed or in progress) with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
• Mandatory knowledge of investment funds and trusts.
• Experience filing tax returns for trusts and corporations.
• Proven experience in individual and team coaching and competency development.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and pivot tables.
