Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their Mississauga office on a three‑month fixed‑term basis, with strong potential for extension or permanent conversion. The role will support financial reporting and operational accounting within a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full‑cycle accounting, including month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close, and prepare journal entries and working papers in accordance with IFRS/US GAAP.
• Provide guidance to junior staff on accounts receivable and payable, and oversee complex SAP transaction workflows.
• Prepare audit schedules and act as primary contact for external auditors.
• Analyze inventory valuation and COGS in SAP, collaborate with warehouse teams to resolve cycle‑count discrepancies.
• Process retailer deductions and chargebacks to protect cash flow.
• Perform daily and monthly reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
• Drive SAP process improvements, create custom variants and automate reporting.
• Prepare corporate tax filings, including HST/GST returns, using SAP tax modules.

Required profile

• CPA designation preferred; candidates nearing completion will be considered.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of inventory and trade‑spend accounting.
• Advanced proficiency with SAP ERP and expert‑level Excel skills.
• Ability to work full‑time onsite in Mississauga.
