Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their Mississauga office on a 3‑month fixed‑term basis, with strong potential for extension or conversion. The role will support full‑cycle accounting, internal controls and analytical reporting to drive regional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes, preparing journal entries and working papers in accordance with IFRS/US GAAP.
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior A/R and A/P staff on complex transactions and SAP workflows.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for the annual external audit and act as a primary contact for auditors.
• Analyze inventory valuation and Cost of Goods Sold within SAP, collaborating with warehouse teams to resolve cycle‑count discrepancies.
• Process retailer deductions and chargebacks, working with sales and operations to protect cash flow.
• Perform daily and monthly reconciliations to ensure data integrity and safeguard corporate assets.
• Drive SAP process improvements, including workflow optimization, custom variant creation and automation of manual reports.
• Prepare corporate tax filings such as HST/GST returns using SAP tax modules and support tax installment calculations.

Required profile

• CPA designation preferred; candidates nearing completion will also be considered.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory and trade‑spend accounting.
• Ability to work full‑time onsite in Mississauga.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SAP ERP.
• Expert‑level Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP.
• Experience with IFRS and US GAAP reporting standards.
• Audit preparation and tax compliance experience.
