Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the management and reporting of financial information. The role involves analyzing data, preparing reconciliations, tax returns, and maintaining accurate accounting records.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day banking, cash management and reconcile bank, loan and general ledger accounts.
• Process month‑end and year‑end journal entries, payroll‑related entries and reconcile payroll accounts.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets sub‑ledger, track capital projects and update continuity schedules.
• Prepare intercompany reconciliations and resolve mismatches with internal stakeholders.
• File monthly sales tax returns, assist with corporate tax returns and submit required filings to Statistics Canada.
• Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and coordinating responses.
• Identify and implement process improvements, ensure adherence to internal controls and streamline accounting functions using automation tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, communicate with banks, credit‑card providers and external auditors.
• Perform ad‑hoc financial analysis and support finance‑related projects.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of full‑cycle accounting experience, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
• Post‑secondary education in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation or enrollment is an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a detail‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
