School Meal Program Supervisor – Temporary (10‑Month Position)

About the role

The School Meal Program Supervisor will lead the daily operations of the food services program across Surrey Schools for a 10‑month temporary assignment. Reporting to the Manager of Food Services, you will ensure safe, nutritious meals while supervising staff and handling administrative duties.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and supervise designated food‑service staff; conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
• Plan menus, develop recipes, estimate food requirements, and manage ordering, receiving, and supplier discrepancy resolution.
• Monitor expenditures, recommend budget adjustments, and track inventory to minimize waste.
• Evaluate food and beverage quality, quantity, and safety; enforce safety practices and update procedures with manager approval.
• Oversee storage, food rotations, and waste reduction across school sites.
• Generate reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence using computer software; perform aide duties as needed.

Required profile

• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of provincial food safety standards and basic food preparation for school meals.
• Ability to perform accurate calculations quickly.
