Residential Support Worker – HART Hub (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Residential Support Worker will provide direct, culturally‑safe care to Indigenous clients living in group homes or residential settings within the HART Hub. You will assist with daily living activities, personal care and household tasks while supporting clients’ mental health and addiction recovery journeys.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene, meals, medication reminders and daily routines.
• Deliver trauma‑informed, culturally grounded support aligned with the Seven Grandfather Teachings.
• Implement and document Indigenous‑based wellness programs in collaboration with elders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate client records, incident reports and care plans.
• Respond to crises or behavioural challenges using non‑violent intervention techniques.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Social Work, Addictions, Indigenous Wellness or a related field.
• 1‑2 years experience working with Indigenous communities, residential or land‑based healing programs, or in mental health/addictions settings.
• Lived experience with recovery or traditional healing practices is an asset.
• Valid First Aid/CPR and willingness to obtain Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention certification.
• Reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Strong oral and written communication in English.
• Knowledge of Anishinabek Health and traditional healing practices.
