Registered Nurse – Nursing Resource Team

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Nursing Resource Team at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. In this fast‑paced environment you will provide comprehensive nursing care to diverse patient populations, building therapeutic relationships with patients and families.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care across acute medical, surgical and continuing‑care settings.
• Establish therapeutic relationships and communicate effectively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Administer medications, including IV therapy, in accordance with physician orders.
• Document care using Cerner and the electronic patient record system.
• Adapt to changing priorities and maintain high attendance and performance standards.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BSc in Nursing or equivalent education/experience allowing full‑scope practice.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to work independently and exercise critical‑thinking skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to the organization’s values.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency (Outlook email).
• Experience with Cerner and electronic patient record systems.
• IV medication administration.
• BLS certification.
