Regional Account Manager

About the role

Cogent Communications is seeking a Regional Account Manager to drive new business across a defined territory. You will combine high‑volume prospecting with consultative selling to match customers’ connectivity needs with Cogent’s high‑speed Internet, private network, and colocation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the assigned regional sales territory through cold calling, emailing and networking.
• Develop and execute sales strategies for large commercial and retail buildings, office parks, and professional campuses.
• Conduct field activities such as building walks, lobby events, and face‑to‑face meetings with property managers and decision‑makers.
• Educate prospects on Cogent’s connectivity solutions using a consultative, relationship‑building approach.
• Maintain accurate activity records in the company’s CRM system.
• Achieve monthly revenue targets and contribute to overall sales goals.

Required profile

• 0‑2+ years of proven sales experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with revenue deadlines.

What we offer

• Base salary ranging from $40,000 to $50,000 per year (up to $75,000 with tenure‑based increases).
• Uncapped commission structure (50‑150% of monthly recurring charges, plus one‑time and burst incentives).
