Ready-Mix Concrete Truck Driver

About the role

RM Mobile, a division of RMC Group of Companies, is hiring Ready-Mix Concrete Truck Drivers for a major project in Sturgeon County, Alberta. The driver hauls concrete from the mobile batch plant to the project pour site, working outdoors in varying weather and often alone.

Key responsibilities

• Pre-trip inspection of the truck, including fluids such as oil and antifreeze
• Fill the truck with water, prepare the drum and add ingredients such as fibers, cement and admixtures as directed
• Check slumps and mix of concrete, then drive safely to the job site
• Maneuver the truck on uneven or poor terrain, place chutes and unload safely and efficiently
• Get tickets signed, wash the truck in the designated area and refuel at the end of the shift
• Communicate with the dispatcher and batcher by radio, and occasionally use a chipper to clean the drum
• Take part in the company safety program; other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Valid Class 3 or Class 1 driver's licence with air brake endorsement
• Clean driving record
• Ability to work long hours, overtime and weekends
• 1-2 years of prior concrete truck driving experience preferred
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs at a time and sit for long periods
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
