Project Manager - PeopleComms Technology PMO

About the role

Manulife is looking for a strategic, collaborative and highly organized Project Manager to join its PeopleComms Technology Project Management Office. The role leads complex, global HR technology and transformation initiatives from definition through adoption and value realization, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing delivery across predictive, Agile and hybrid approaches. It is a hybrid position in Toronto.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex global business and technology initiatives from discovery and planning through implementation, transition to operations, adoption and value realization.
• Partner with business and product leaders to turn approved outcomes into delivery plans, governance, milestones and success measures.
• Select predictive, Agile or hybrid delivery methods based on work, risk, dependencies and readiness.
• Own plans, budgets, forecasts, resources, vendors, risks, issues, assumptions and benefits, escalating decisions with recommendations.
• Embed privacy, security, regulatory, records, accessibility, data and responsible AI requirements into delivery plans and stage gates.
• Plan stakeholder engagement, communications, learning, process changes and operating model impacts to drive adoption.
• Provide concise, decision-oriented reporting on outcomes, milestones, financials, capacity, risks, adoption and benefits.
• Establish a sustainable transition to Day 2 operations, including ownership, support processes, service measures, release planning and documentation.
• Coach project teams and strengthen delivery discipline.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive project management experience on large-scale, cross-functional technology or transformation initiatives in global, matrixed environments; HR technology, employee experience or financial services experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience implementing enterprise platforms, preferably Workday Learning, Talent, Performance or Succession, and learning technologies such as Sana Learn.
• PMP strongly preferred; Agile or scaled delivery credentials (e.g. PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe Agilist) and change management credentials (e.g. Prosci, CCMP) are assets.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in business, technology, human resources, engineering or a related field.

Required skills

• Strong command of predictive, Agile and hybrid delivery, including integrated planning, financial management, vendor delivery, governance and benefits realization.
• Experience with project, product and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet and Microsoft 365.
• Working knowledge of enterprise architecture, integrations, APIs, data flows, testing, release management and service management.
• Executive-level communication, facilitation and influence skills.
