Project Director – Large‑Scale Building Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of major building projects across Western Canada. Based in Edmonton, the role combines strategic oversight, client relationship management, and team leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction throughout the full project lifecycle, from pursuit and pre‑construction to close‑out.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams to meet schedule, budget, quality, and profitability targets.
• Develop and execute project execution strategies, aligning resources for successful delivery.
• Monitor performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, trade partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Support business development, proposal preparation, and contract negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, contract administration, and project controls.
• Mentor and develop project management professionals, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• 15+ years in construction, with 10+ years in senior project management or leadership roles.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale ICI, commercial, institutional or mixed‑use projects valued at $100M+.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, construction operations, risk management and financial controls.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
