Primary School Teacher (Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary School Teacher to join our public school in an urban setting on a permanent basis. The position involves teaching French‑language classes, working 70 hours every two weeks, and contributing to the overall development of young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Attend educational conferences and workshops to stay current with teaching practices.
• Discuss student progress with parents, school officials, and colleagues.
• Evaluate, document, and report on student achievement.
• Participate in staff meetings, teacher‑training sessions, and professional development activities.
• Supervise teaching assistants and mentor student teachers.
• Assign, collect, and correct homework and assessments.
• Develop and adapt curriculum content to meet individual learning needs.
• Lead activities that promote physical, mental, and social development and school readiness.
• Design and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.
• Prepare lesson materials, administer tests, and use a variety of instructional methods including discussions, audio‑visual presentations, and field trips.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Provincial teaching certificate and successful criminal record check.
• Ability to work in a public‑school, urban environment.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in French.
