Pharmacy Assistant (Part-Time)

About the role

Join Sobeys Inc. as a part‑time Pharmacy Assistant at the FreshCo Pharm in Aldergrove. You will support the pharmacy team in delivering patient‑centered care while handling prescription processing and store operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble prescriptions, enter data, and process customer transactions.
• Receive and record in‑person and telephone refill requests, including deliveries.
• File prescriptions, order and replenish supplies, and maintain a clean work area.
• Create drug orders, receive shipments, compound medications, and assemble pill packs.
• Schedule professional clinical services and manage behind‑the‑counter tasks such as cycle counts, narcotic counts, stock returns, and tall‑man lettering.
• Assist the pharmacist with dispensary duties within the scope of the role.

Required profile

• Preferred Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post‑secondary institute.
• Consideration given to candidates with two years of retail Canadian pharmacy experience in lieu of a diploma in some provinces.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and capacity to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to adhere to all applicable company standards and pharmacy regulations.

Required skills

• Prescription data entry.
• Basic knowledge of pharmacy inventory management.
• Familiarity with compounding and pill‑pack assembly processes.
