Personal Support Aide - Medical

About the role

The Personal Support Aide provides essential care and assistance to residents in a nursing home environment. You will work closely with patients to ensure their comfort, safety, and well‑being throughout each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Supply and empty bed pans, and collect specimens as needed.
• Measure patients' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
• Serve meal trays, feed patients, and assist with nutrition.
• Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely.
• Make beds, maintain patient rooms, and manage inventory of supplies.
• Supervise patients' exercise routines and provide mobility support.
• Bath, dress, and groom patients, and transport them using wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Respond to call signals, assess patient needs, and administer first aid in emergencies.

Required profile

• College, CEGEP or equivalent certificate/diploma (1‑2 years) or comparable experience.
• 1 to less than 2 years of experience in a similar care setting.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment with repetitive tasks.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods, lift up to 9 kg, and perform bending, crouching, and kneeling.
• Criminal record check and tuberculosis test required.
• Own transportation for travel to the work site.
