Pediatric Gastroenterologist – Inflammatory Bowel Disease

About the role

The Department of Pediatrics at CHEO, University of Ottawa is recruiting a full‑time Pediatric Gastroenterologist with a focus on Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership potential and a strong track record in clinical or basic research on pediatric Crohn’s disease and/or ulcerative colitis. The appointment includes a faculty position at the University of Ottawa, access to the fast‑growing CHEO Research Institute and a new state‑of‑the‑art integrated children’s treatment centre.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical care for pediatric intestinal and liver diseases, including IBD.
• Lead and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, dietitians, and a dedicated social worker.
• Conduct and support clinical or basic research in pediatric Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
• Participate in teaching activities for medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Contribute to the division’s research initiatives using resources from the CHEO Research Institute.

Required profile

• MD with eligibility for licensing in the Province of Ontario.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and a proven research record in pediatric IBD.
