People Partner, Research

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a senior People Partner to join its Research organization in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role will partner with research leaders to provide strategic HR guidance, support employee lifecycle events, and help shape policies that enable safe and beneficial AI development.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor and coach to research leaders and managers.
• Provide comprehensive HR support across compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee relations.
• Collaborate with specialist People teams, finance, and leadership to design and implement scalable programs that attract and retain top talent.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives such as manager training and culture‑building projects.
• Ensure compliance with North American employment law and best‑practice standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 + years of experience in People Partner, People Operations, Employee Relations, Recruiting or related HR functions.
• Background working in fast‑growing technology companies or start‑ups, with solid knowledge of North American employment law.
• Experience supporting AI‑focused research and engineering teams is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to coach diverse leaders, handle confidential matters, and resolve conflicts.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and commitment to fostering an inclusive, high‑performance culture.
