People & Culture Generalist

About the role

The People & Culture Generalist will support managers and employees at Nature Fresh Farms’ Leamington greenhouse facility. This full‑time, permanent position focuses on employee relations, performance management, and compliance with Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) program.

Key responsibilities

• Guide managers through performance‑management cycles, including progressive discipline and performance appraisals.
• Investigate incidents, document findings, and communicate outcomes to supervisors and staff.
• Act as a liaison for employee inquiries, grievances, leave of absence requests, and policy interpretation.
• Ensure compliance with the TFW program by monitoring legislation, preparing LMIA applications, work permits, visa extensions, and contract renewals.
• Maintain accurate TFW records in HRIS, physical files, and internal databases.
• Coordinate travel logistics, orientation training, and onboarding for guest workers.
• Prepare and approve invoices related to TFW travel and administrative costs.

Required profile

• Experience in human‑resources functions, preferably within a manufacturing or agricultural environment.
• Familiarity with Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program and LMIA processes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record‑keeping and compliance reporting.
• Ability to communicate clearly with managers, employees, and external agencies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HRIS or other Human Resources databases.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• LMIA application processing and immigration compliance knowledge.
• Document management and filing systems.
