About the role
Ronald McDonald House Toronto is seeking a People & Culture Coordinator to support HR and volunteer engagement across its downtown Toronto location. Reporting to the Manager, People & Culture, you will help create a positive, inclusive workplace while handling day‑to‑day HR operations in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment and onboarding for employees and volunteers, including interview scheduling, reference checks, offers, and compliance tracking.
- Maintain HR data in the HRIS and payroll system (Payworks) and manage volunteer information in Volgistics.
- Support payroll preparation, ensure data integrity, generate reports, and recommend process improvements.
- Plan and deliver employee and volunteer recognition events, wellness programs, and appreciation activities.
- Handle first‑line HR inquiries, manage the P&C inbox, and track participation feedback.
- Organise training sessions, maintain compliance records, and occasionally deliver presentations.
- Assist in drafting and updating HR standard operating procedures.
Required profile
- Experience coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration.
- Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems, preferably Payworks.
- Ability to manage volunteer data using platforms such as Volgistics.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
